The rotating member of a turbine, blower, fan, axial or centrifugal pump, or mixing apparatus. Also known as rotor.

These can be very accurate but are not suitable for exercise studies or maximum voluntary ven- tilation studies since those studies involve reverse changes in rotation, something with which impellors have difficulty due to factors of momentum.
Additionally, removable parts such as mixers and impellors coated with PVDF may be recoated if the coating begins to wear down.
