instruction mix
The blend of instruction types in a program. It often refers to writing benchmark programs, which requires that the amount of I/O instructions versus processing instructions reflects the type of application the benchmark is written for. In addition, the processing instructions must contain the average mix used in the particular type of application, such as business, graphics or scientific. See benchmark.

The proportion of various types of instructions that appear in a particular computer program, or in a benchmark representing a class of programs.
