| The Irruptive Ground of Contemporary SF: Ecocritical Theory and American Science Fiction" took students through various works on science fiction theory, particularly essays by Darko Suvin. There's a bit of Pipilotti Rist's del phic giddiness to all this, and more than a bit of Bruce Nauman's pugnacity--even an echo of the stuttering phrases scrawled across Suzanne McClelland's early paintings--but these works are funny, grating, and irruptive in their own exhilarating way. Revelation for Rosenzweig is the irruptive and shocking event of God's address or call to us. |
