labellum [lə′belĀ·əm] (botany) The median membrane of the corolla of an orchid often differing in size and morphology from the other two petals. (invertebrate zoology) A prolongation of the labrum in certain beetles and true bugs. In Diptera, either of a pair of sensitive fleshy lobes consisting of the expanded end of the labium.
