Magna Electronics and Mobileye Vision Technologies have joined forces to develop a combined automatic high beam/low beam headlamp controller and lane departure warning system that can be integrated into a single camera.
AMEX:ITI), a leader in the development and application of advanced technologies that help reduce traffic congestion and improve the safety of surface transportation systems, today announced that it has advanced its Lane Departure Warning (LDW) technology to support Nissan's North American debut of the world's first production Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) system in the new 2008 Infiniti EX crossover SUV, which goes on sale at dealerships nationwide in late December.
This is true of automotive vision technologies, and is one major reason safety systems like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Park Assist (PA), Lane Change Support (LCS), and others have been slow to make it from the lab to the road--or from the top of the line to the bottom.
