(mapping)
A scale of sufficient size to permit the plotting of much detail with exactness.
(meteorology)
A scale such that the curvature of the earth may not be considered negligible; this scale is applicable to the high tropospheric long-wave patterns, with four or five waves around the hemisphere in the middle latitudes.
