(engineering) Production of reinforced plastics by positioning the reinforcing material (such as glass fabric) in the mold prior to impregnation with resin. lay-up 1. In reinforced plastics, the reinforcing material placed in position in the mold. 2. The resin-impregnated reinforcement. 3. The assembling of veneers for fabrication as plywood.
