CDL: DOUBLE LAYER CAPACITANCE -- The coating is not the only "structural" feature of the sample that gives rise to a capacitance.
Graphene has superior electrical conductivity and surface area and these attributes suggest it could work exceptionally well in electrochemical double layer capacitance applications, also referred to as 'supercapacitor' or 'ultracapacitor' technology.
However, in this system, the capacitor, C, is associated with the double layer capacitance (Cdl) of the metal/electrolyte interface.
