leapfrog test
A storage diagnostic routine that replicates itself throughout the storage medium.
leapfrog test [′lēp‚fräg ‚test]
(computer science)
A computer test using a special program that performs a series of arithmetical or logical operations on one group of storage locations, transfers itself to another group, checks the correctness of the transfer, then begins the series of operations again; eventually, all storage positions will have been tested.
