(1) In a low-level programming language, a statement that directs the computer to go to some other part of the program. See branch and jumpword.

(2) (JUMP) (Java User Migration Path) An umbrella term from Microsoft for tools that convert Java programs to C#. See JLCA.

A transfer of control which terminates one sequence of instructions and begins another sequence at a different location. Also known as branch; transfer.

Cable news channels were hardly alone in leaping to the conclusion that the story meant Republicans were poised to retake control of Congress - which, if true, would be evidence of a huge shift toward John McCain in the presidential race.
The deal does not include any significant land or stabling, so anyone leaping to the conclusion that the move is a precursor to a second phase in McCoy's life can think again.
