A tournament held over the weekend in Leominster and Fitchburg, the Great Northern Tier Geocaching and Letterboxing Tournament, featured two styles of modern treasure hunting.
Letterboxing is another popular pastime in the national park, a cross between orienteering and treasure hunting, there are clubs which organise letterbox trails over the moors, leaving little boxes with a stamp and visitors' book for finders to sign.
