One of the most common forms of the lithium cell that is more slanted towards consumer use is the one that uses a metallic form of lithium as the anode and manganese dioxide as the cathode, with a small amount of lithium salt to be used as the organic solvent necessary to facilitate the current to travel from the anode to the cathode of the battery.
Specifically, the new battery operates with an energy density of 600 watt-hours per kilogram, compared to 400 for standard lithium cells.
Voltage, temperature, charge and discharge cycles are all monitored with "Cell Guard" and managed to dramatically extend the life of each lithium cell in the system.
