(meteorology)

An aviation weather observation taken at specified intervals, usually every 15 minutes, when there are impending aircraft operations and when weather conditions are below certain operational weather limits; the observation includes ceiling, sky condition, visibility, atmospheric phenomena, and pertinent remarks.
