logic operation

An operation that analyzes one or more inputs and generates a particular output based on a set of rules. See AND-OR-NOT and Boolean logic.


logic operation [′läj·ik ‚äp·ə′rā·shən]
(computer science)
A nonarithmetical operation in a computer, such as comparing, selecting, making references, matching, sorting, and merging, where logical yes-or-no quantities are involved.
