(meteorology)
A weather forecast covering periods from 48 hours to a week in advance (medium-range forecast), and ranging to even longer forecasts over periods of a month, a season, and so on.

As the long-range forecast for Australia predicts the continuation of the continent's drought and a temperature increase of at least 1 degree Celsius, camels may soon venture more often onto cultivated land in search of food and water.
