(forensic science)
A type of fingerprint pattern in which one or more of the ridges enter on either side of the impression, recurve, touch, or pass an imaginary line from the delta to the core and terminate on the entering side.

For about three and half hours, the KC-135 will fly a racetrack loop pattern over the desert and mountains between Edwards and Lake Isabella, flying around and around while fighter jets pull up periodically to top off their fuel tanks.
