| The Superfund Center at the University of Arizona has launched several projects addressing remediation of hazardous waste sites in the border region including collaborations with entities such as the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center, and Precision Lysimeters. Researchers installed pressure/vacuum lysimeters in the unsaturated zone of six landfills. Leaching tests also were run on auger samples obtained while installing pressure/Vacuum lysimeters in the landfills. |
