mMode

A wireless Web service from AT&T Wireless introduced in 2002. Initially offering a trimmed-down version of Japan's successful i-Mode service, mMode offers a variety of news, weather, traffic, games, reference materials and yellow and white page directories. It uses WAP/WML, the wireless HTML protocols, to deliver abbreviated Web pages to the color displays of mMode phones. See i-Mode and WAP.

Subscribers to the mMode service will be able to amuse themselves with MotoGP, Tetris, Astrosmash and WWE Mobile Madness, available at prices from $1 to $4.
Whether you know it as iMode, mMode, or merely as the industry-standard browser for wireless devices, there's a reason why this technology holds the potential to vastly increase the reach and grasp of rich Web payload and deliver it to a population in pursuit of ultimate mobility.
Customers also must subscribe to an AT&T Wireless voice calling plan, as well as its mMode mobile Web service.
