mangle
a machine for pressing or drying wet textiles, clothes, etc., consisting of two heavy rollers between which the cloth is passed

mangle - Used similarly to mung or scribble, but more violent in its connotations; something that is mangled has been irreversibly and totally trashed.

This latest assortment of "Misadventures in English Abroad" is as amusing as it's predecessor, unashamedly exposing language manglers including the hotel in China that offers "uncomplimentary pants" and the seaside area in Spain that advertises its "beach of irregular bottoms".
Two conclusions: Queen must be the most misinterpreted band ever - "Beelzebub has a devil for a sideboard" and "Mama, I just killed a bear" - and women are the nation's most chronic word manglers.
Alan's offence was merely to observe that he wouldn't pay to see Sam Allardyce's manglers.
