asphaltic mastic, mastic asphalt
A viscous mixture of asphalt and a filler material such as fine sand or asbestos; hardens when exposed to air; used as an adhesive, as a sealant at joints, and in waterproofing.

The company has also recently finalised works at Liverpool's new Hilton Hotel, located within the pounds 1bn Liverpool One scheme, for Kier Construction, where a range of roofing applications including single ply, hot melt and mastic asphalt have been specified under a pounds 700,000 contract.
We are a family-run small mastic asphalt company but when we try to get work from our local councils, it falls on deaf ears.
But I don't like this red mastic asphalt surface the council are talking about either.
