Low-value transactions in electronic commerce. The ability to charge pennies for a transaction enables pay-per-view services such as selling a single article from a newspaper or magazine or providing individual lookups from a resource such as a dictionary or encyclopedia for example. Microcommerce enables services that are too small to be paid by a single credit card transaction. See micropayment.
