A miniature MEMS-based robotic hand designed for microsurgery. Only a millimeter in size when its four fingers are closed, the microhand was developed by the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and introduced in 2007. It is expected to be a breakthrough in vascular microsurgery. See microsurgery.
