minimize
In a graphical environment, minimizing hides an application that is currently on screen. As an indication that the application is still open, an icon representing the program is placed on a toolbar known as the Taskbar in Windows and the Dock in the Mac. Clicking the icon restores the application to its previous location. See Win Minimize windows.
