mobile Web site
A Web site designed for the small screens of mobile phones. Queries to a Web site include the type of browser being used, and when a request from a mobile browser is made, it is redirected to the mobile version for a significantly better surfing experience. Of course, the user can access the mobile site by its own name such as
mobile.pcmag.com. Mobile sites render their pages in narrow columns and often provide only a subset of their regular Web site. See

| Browsing to answers.com from a computer on your desk returns the page at the top, but if the request comes from a mobile phone, the page from mobile.answers.com comes back instead. Although any regular Web page can be scrolled in a mobile browser, it is much easier to read a page formatted for a tiny screen. |
