It will cover physical, data link, network and transport layers, as well as application, security, simulation and power management issues in sensor, local, area, satellite, vehicular, personal and mobile ad hoc networks. In December 2000, at a meeting of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), NIST researchers announced the availability of a validated, public domain OPNET model for the dynamic source routing (DSR) protocol, proposed as one of several candidates for routing in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). Previously, at SRI International from 1995-2002, Sastry served as program director of the Telecommunications and Distributed Processing Group, where he supervised the development, implementation and testing of mobile ad hoc network protocols within that group with support from various government agencies. |
