Mora 

in classical versification, the normal duration for the pronunciation of a short syllable, the smallest unit of measure in [quantitative] verse. All remaining units of verse are multiples of a mora: as a rule, a long syllable is equal to two moras, an iambic foot to three moras, and so on.
