Mountain Pass 

deeply cut and low-lying saddles on both slopes of a mountain range or between two mountain ranges. They are usually very important for transportation, for example. the Tamerlane Gate in the Uzbek SSR, the Külek Bogazi in Turkey, the Moravian Gate in Czechoslovakia, and Khyber Pass on the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
