A file that contains graphics, animation, audio or video. A multimedia "file" typically refers to all file formats other than text files. It allows the sending physician to record a set of questions and store textual data and pertinent images about the patient(s) in question in a multimedia file, send it to a consultant, and wait for the consultant to check his electronic mail and download the file for interpretation. To add graphics, sound or a multimedia file, go to the Upload Multimedia File box and type in the name of the file you want. With electronic filing, you can store a multimedia file on a CD-Rom or on a computer system hard drive. |
