| A thick sub-SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) flap external to the parotid fascia is elevated as far anteriorly as required. Among them are thick skin flap elevation, (2) fascia lata grafts, (4,5) dermal-fat grafts, (6,7) stemocleidomastoid muscle (SCM) flaps, (8-10) superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) flaps, (1,11) and temporoparietal fascia flaps. Imaging findings reported in the literature describe a poorly marginated transspatial enhancing mass in the soft tissue of the extracranial head and neck that arises from the musculoaponeurotic structures. |
