(NO₂)₃C₆(CH₃)₂C(CH₃)₃White to yellow crystals with powerful musk aroma; soluble in various oils and phthalates, insoluble in water; congeals at 105°C; used as a perfume fixative. Also known as musk xylene; 2,4,6-trinitro-1,3-dimethyl-5-tert-butylbenzene.
