(medicine)
A malignant neoplasm composed of anaplastic sympathicoblasts; occurs usually in the adrenal medulla of children.

Olfactory neuroblastomas are thought to arise from the specialized sensory neuroepithelial (neuroectodermal) olfactory cells that are normally found in the upper part of the nasal cavity, usually including the cribriform plate of the ethmoid sinus.
Because the symptoms of the disease tend to be varied and vague, some 65 percent of Neuroblastomas are not diagnosed until the disease is widespread.
