Novocaine

Novocaine 

an analgesic; a hydrochloride of diethylaminoethyl ester of paraaminobenzoic acid. Novocaine solutions are used for local anesthesia, novocaine block, for vascular spasms, and eczema. They are also used to dilute certain antibiotics, such as penicillin, in order to prolong their effect.
