The software giant said in an advisory issued late Monday that the flaw "exists as a null pointer reference of Internet Explorer" and involves the way the browser handles cascading style sheets objects.
The checker enables PolySpace software to generate messages when code does not comply with checkable JSF++ rules, including those related to overflow/underflow analysis, unreachable code identification, dereferencing null pointers, and initialization.
In addition, a null pointer bug in Telephony, exploited through a maliciously crafted SMS message, could lead to unexpected service interruption.
