osteosarcoma [¦äs·tē·ō·sär′kō·mə]
(medicine)
A malignant tumor principally composed of anaplastic cells of mesenchymal derivation. Also known as osteogenic sarcoma.

Ronit Satchi-Fainaro believes that the new invention may alleviate particularly malicious forms of cancers like osteosarcomas and bone metastases and combat resistance to anti-cancer drugs like Taxol, keeping other normal healthy cells around the tumor safe.
The sites where osteosarcomas are commonly found are the lower thigh, upper shin bone, upper arm and lower shin bone in decreasing order of frequency.
This syndrome is associated with predisposition to adrenal carcinoma and other malignancies, including breast carcinoma, leukaemias, osteosarcomas and soft tissue sarcomas (3).
