(1) (Properties LIST) A file in the Mac and GNUstep environments that stores user settings. The pList is also used to hold meta-data about Mac application bundles (see APP file).

(2) (Plist) (Permanent-LIST) A table of bad and marginal hard disk sectors that were found at the time of manufacture. See hard disk defect management.
