Pancreatin

pancreatin [pan′krē·əd·ən]
(biochemistry)
A cream-colored, amorphous powder obtained from the fresh pancreas of a hog; contains amylopsin, trypsin, steapsin, and other enzymes.

Pancreatin 

an enzyme preparation obtained from the pancreas of swine or cattle. It contains the basic glandular enzymes, chiefly trypsin and amylase. Pancreatin is used in powder or tablet form for digestive disorders.

The vegetarian version, with activities similar to pancreatin, contains amylase and lipase, along with a complex of endo-and exo-peptidases that are active over a wide range of gastrointestinal pH.
In the future, some popular anti-aging enzymes will include: * Trypsin and pancreatin, which are alternatives to papain and bromelain; * Collagenase, which breaks down collagen to improve keloid scars, cellulite and skin defects; and * Glycosidase and lysozyme, which are prized for their anti-acne benefits.
As the resulting slurry, known as "chyme," exits the stomach and enters the duodenum, it stimulates the secretion of the hormone secretin, which in turn, signals the pancreas to release trypsin, chymotrypsin, and pancreatin, a mixture of several enzymes, including proteases, amylase, and lipase (See Table 1 above.
