| Histopathology of the excised node revealed that a papillary carcinoma was located within thyroid tissue, which in turn was located within a branchial cyst. Further, metastatic deposits may be found within primary thyroid minors, such as a renal cell carcinoma metastatic to a thyroid papillary carcinoma. The final pathologic diagnosis was a multinodular goiter without evidence of papillary carcinoma. |
