Parallel transmissions are susceptible to crosstalk across wide ribbon cable paths. They could use serial transmission as have most of the networks before them, but there is also a good chance that they may be based around parallel transmission - opening up entirely new markets for parallel optics and WDM products. The first one transports massive amounts of information by parallel transmission of different wavelengths in a single optical fiber. |
