Parton
Dolly. born 1946, US country and pop singer and songwriter parton [′pär‚tän] (particle physics) One of the very singular (or hard), small charged particles of which hadrons are proposed to be constructed, according to a theory developed to account for the scattering of very-high-energy electrons from protons at large angles and with large momentum transfers. Parton a hypothetical particle or quasiparticle that is a structural element of a hadron, or strongly interacting elementary particle. The hypothesis of the existence of partons was advanced in 1969 by R. Feynman to explain the results of experiments on highly inelastic scattering of particles—that is, scattering with a high transfer of momentum to secondary particles. In particular, quarks can be regarded as partons. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
