These new RJ45 video-input passive hubs let end-users and installers employ new or existing unshielded twisted pair wire (UTP) to deliver a high quality picture while cutting costs and simplifying installation versus standard coaxial cable. As digital transmission has excellent performance with high link budgets, no costly optical amplification is required, resulting in an optically passive hub. Passive hubs split that power up among various devices and may not be able to provide enough power to run two, three or more USB peripherals. |
