A loudspeaker driver with no voice-coil or magnet assemblies that is mounted in a box with a woofer and exhibits a resonance that can be used to improve the low-frequency response of the system.

The key to the roughly 5 inch by 2 inch speakers is what Bose calls "dual internal opposing passive radiators.
There are separate ribbon midrange and tweeter level controls and the mass on the passive radiators is adjustable, so the chance of getting them dialed for each individual listening room is improved.
The PSW310W incorporates a 400-watt amplifier, a 10-inch woofer featuring proprietary Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (CMMD([R])) driver material, dual 10-inch CMMD passive radiators, and Infinity([R])-exclusive Bass Optimization System[TM] technology, which corrects for low-frequency room resonances.
