Patrology 

the aspect of Christian theology devoted to the biographies of the fathers of the church and to the interpretation of their works. Patrology is also concerned with codifying the basic works of the fathers of the church, important sources on church history. J.-P. Migne compiled the most extensive publication of these sources and other related materials.
