For example, after three years of operation of boilers TP-67 and TP-101, it is necessary to replace 1900-2700 sections of perlitic tubes (that makes 65-85 tons), and about 600 sections of austenitic tubes (3-5 tons or 30-50% of their total mass).
It is interesting to mention that relative acceleration of corrosion impact by oil shale ash on Cr-Ni austenitic alloy is more notable than on chromium perlitic steel, in spite of the fact that the absolute value of corrosion depth in the first case is lower.
Corrosion resistance of protective coating with large Ni content, settled on perlitic steel tube specimen, was also tested in laboratory and in PF oil shale boilers.
