personal Web server

(1) A Web server that is used to host Web pages for individuals or employees.

(2) (Personal Web Server) Web server software for Windows from Microsoft. Personal Web Server (PWS) is an abbreviated version of Internet Information Server (IIS), and was made available as an NT option as well as a free download from its Web site. Personal Web Server supports ASP pages, but does not support an FTP function.
