phase change cooler |
0.02 sec. |
phase change coolerA computer cooling method that uses the same "phase-changing" liquid-to-gas-to-liquid cycle as a refrigerator or freezer. A compressor and condenser turn gas into liquid, and an evaporator converts it back into gas, while absorbing heat from the CPU chip and other components. Phase change cooling creates subzero temperatures as low as -100 degrees Centigrade, but the humidity created by condensation is a side effect that has to be dealt with.
