Written Japanese is considered to be one the toughest languages of the world and uses Japanese phonetic symbols that represent sound as well as Chinese characters.
The information on each includes the phonetic symbol for the sound, a photographs of the lips, a drawing of the side view of the mouth (also indicating voiced or unvoiced), a chart of palate contact, and a sonogram of the position of the tongue.
The phonetic symbols are here used solely in reference to single letters, as distinct from bigrams etc.
