An electron emitted by the photoelectric effect.

Photoelectron 

an electron that is emitted by an atom, molecule, or condensed medium upon exposure to quanta of electromagnetic radiation, or photons (see). The term “photoelectrons” is also applied to electrons in a condensed medium that have absorbed photons and, as a consequence, have an energy that is elevated relative to the equilibrium energy (see and ).
