Thus, on 22 June 1937, the MTS Scientific Research Institute was reorganized into the Photogrammetric Center of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, and later, on 5 March 1940--into the MTS Scientific Research and Testing Facility, to be later transformed again into the MTS Scientific Research Institute on 24 October 1943. The researchers describe the LandScan database, which they say will help determine populations at risk from natural and manmade disasters, in the July PHOTOGRAMMETRIC ENGINEERING & REMOTE SENSING. |
