Refers to a unique function on a Web site that does not require a browser plug-in in order to use it. Users prefer plug-inless solutions for many reasons. First, everyone is leery of viruses coming from the Web, and second, if a person buys a new computer, all the browser plug-ins have to be downloaded again and installed. The fewer the better.
