Police car lights are visual warning devices and may not catch the attention of people as fast as audible warning devices.
The fire engine and the police car met at high speed at the junction of Borough Road and Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, just before 6am on February 17, 2006.
Dad-of-two Michael Butler, of Llewelyn Drive, Bryn y Baal, near Mold, yesterday told the Daily Post how two stolen cars were met head-on in the street by a police car after hours of mayhem on Sunday night and Monday morning in Flintshire.
